The author has spent much of the last decade scouring the back roads, 4 x 4 trails, and footpaths of the Centennial State in a rush against time and progress to photograph the fragile remnants of Colorado's earliest days.From solitary prospector's huts in remote back country gulches, to the weather-beaten facades of boom towns gone bust, the author has attempted to capture a few final images of Colorado's rapidly vanishing past.The author hopes to help raise awareness and public interest in the preservation and protection of Colorado's historic sites and structures. What one might see as merely an old, rusty eyesore, another sees as an aged beauty who stood silent witness to the hard work and struggle that gave birth to the Colorado we know and love today.
