Artisans in the Bolgatanga region of Ghana weave these beautiful and durable baskets from thick, tough elephant grass. A popular choice among green shoppers, busy mothers and picnic planners worldwide. Bolga baskets stand up to use, practical, sustainable, remain functional, and beautiful for years. Handwoven in Ghana made from local elephant grass. Each basket is one of a kind, with hand dyed colors, and a unique pattern. The leather wrapped handle adds to the durability. Incredibly sturdy and versatile basket is the perfect home accessory, plant pot, toy basket, Easter egg basket, or market basket. This Bolga market basket gets its name from the region of Ghana where abundant veta vera grass is woven to create these hardy, useful African baskets. Although we attempt to ship all baskets fully shaped, some baskets may need a bit of shaping when they arrive to you. Please note to reduce postage costs and packaging these baskets are flattened for postage, this does not harm them in any way, and simple instructions on how to reshape the baskets are included, once wet they pretty much bounce back to the original shape with a little help from you.
