On the head base there is a removable safety pin that acts as a safety catch and helps prevent the plate from sliding out. If this safety pin blocks the mounting of other brand plates or prevents them from sliding out simply remove the safety pin with the key provided. Also, thanks to a reverse-leg design, the addition of the ball head does not add to the folded length of 14".
