Nitrile Commercial Grade Rubber Sheet, Black, 60A, 0.125" x 24" x 36"

Nitrile, also known as Buna-N or nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR), is one of the most oil-resistant types of rubber and is, therefore, one of the best materials for creating industrial seals and gaskets. Many industrial applications work within close vicinities to petroleum and other oil-based materials. These locations tend to use many different kinds of seals and gaskets—all of which are often made of nitrile since nitrile is one of the few elastomers that can withstand strong oils. Of course, nitrile can easily handle short encounters with oils. But, nitrile stands out in its ability to handle extended periods of exposure to oil. This nitrile sheet has a durometer ranging between 55 and 65 Shore A. On average, this nitrile rubber sheet has a durometer of 60 Shore A. At this moderate durometer, nitrile has a strong, supportive structure while maintaining the degree of flexibility most consumers expect out of nitrile products. In addition to the nitrile material that constitutes the majority of these NBR sheets, these sheets are blended with neoprene and SBR—rubber compounds which each offers its own unique set of properties, maximizing the sheet’s ability to tackle the increasingly complex problems for which rubber is used. This Buna-N sheet has a smooth finish, and it comes in black. It inherently resists ozone, moisture, impacts, abrasion, and—of course—oils. Its smooth finish makes it excellent for creating airtight seals. Having a smooth finish minimizes the likelihood that these nitrile sheets will have any gaps along their surfaces that allow pressure to escape.
